pxf, pxfSend, and pxfClone are developed and maintained by a solo independent developer. This policy explains what information is collected through this website and through each app, and how it is used. The short version: this business collects almost nothing, sells nothing, and shares nothing.
1. This Website (pxftools.com)
What is collected. When you sign up for a pxf beta program, we collect your name and email address. That is the only personal information collected through this website.
How it is used. Your name and email address are used solely to communicate with you about the beta program and app updates. We do not sell, share, or distribute your information to any third party. You may unsubscribe at any time, though we only write when there is something worth writing about.
Cookies. This website uses basic cookies for functionality only. No tracking cookies. No advertising cookies. No analytics that identify you.
Storage. Beta signup information is stored securely and is accessible only to the developer.
2. pxf
pxf does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. All video processing happens locally on your Mac. The app makes no network connections for its own purposes.
Because pxf is distributed through the Mac App Store, Apple provides us with your email address and purchase history so purchases can be restored on another device. You may use Apple’s “Hide My Email” option when signing in, and we will have no idea who you are. Your Apple ID email is never shared, under any conditions.
3. pxfSend
pxfSend transfers files through pxfCloud. Here is exactly what that involves:
Files. Files you send remain in pxfCloud for a maximum of 30 days, then are permanently deleted. You may delete them sooner at any time.
Recipient email addresses. The email addresses of people who receive your files are stored with your account so you can revoke access at any time. If you have not explicitly saved an address to your pxf contacts list, it is deleted automatically when every file that address could access has been deleted.
Your account. You may delete your pxfSend account at any time from within the app. Deletion removes your account data, your contacts list, and any files still in pxfCloud.
Billing. All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see or store payment information.
We do not read, scan, analyze, or mine the contents of your files. They are yours.
4. pxfClone
pxfClone collects nothing. It has no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, and makes no network connections. Every operation — reading your cards, copying your files, verifying your copies — happens entirely on your Mac. Your files, file names, and folder structures never leave your machine.
The one thing the app stores on your Mac is your light/dark appearance preference, and it stays on your Mac.
The optional Pro purchase is processed by Apple through the Mac App Store. We receive purchase history from Apple so the purchase can be restored on another device, and nothing else.
Your Rights
You may request a copy of any personal information we hold about you, or ask that it be removed, by writing to the contact address below. Since the total is typically a name and an email address, both requests are simple and honored promptly.
Children
These apps and this website are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Changes will never expand data collection without a clear notice.
